Naturally, Chloe and Alex’s romance began as all famous love stories do – in the History wing of their high school during after school debate practice. The two friends would bicker, banter, and joke their way through tournaments – competing against and supporting each other as both partners and adversaries. By the summer of 2015, the two lovebirds-in-denial had become inseparable, now enjoying platonic dinners out, concerts in Central Park, and plenty of movies. All was fine and well until one fortuitous afternoon cloud watching in Waveny Park when the stubborn spark finally caught kindling and the two finally confronted the inevitable.

The couple dated and continued to grow closer until Alex went to St. Louis and Chloe went to Washington D.C. pivoting their relationship long-distance. Although the distance was a challenge, they used this opportunity to continue to grow and develop – finding their own hobbies and passions while staying supported and connected to each other.

Alex had known for a while that Chloe was his one and only which motivated him to buy the engagement ring in March of 2022 with plans to wait until the next year to propose. Fast forward to Spring and the couple moved into their first apartment together in Cambridge, MA to finally start their lives together (with Cobalt of course). The excitement was too much, and he proposed over a romantic candlelit dinner at home on December 10th, 2022.

Alex and Chloe could not be happier to go from debate partners to life partners on June 15th, 2024, at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, Massachusetts surrounded by friends and family.
